Licensed Professional Counselor
I have always had a passion for helping others find their way through life’s struggles, big and small. I understand sometimes people get lost on this journey and need a helping hand to find their way back. That’s where I believe people like myself come in, to lend that helping hand when needed. I received my BS in General Equestrian Studies with an emphasis in Equine Assisted Therapy and Psychology from William Woods University in 2012. I went on to complete my Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance with an emphasis in General Mental Health from UMKC in 2016.
I am a firm believe in meeting people where they are at and that what works for one person may not work for somewhere else. I approach therapy from a person centered perspective and focus on building rapport and trust with my clients. I also strive to approach all clients from a trauma informed perspective. I have worked in community mental health as well as residential settings. I have extensive experience working with adolescents with substance use, co-occurring mental health diagnoses, trauma, and their families. I have received training in DBT and EMDR.
